Pinterest Brides

I recently started  using Pinterest because everyone (namely Mike Wilton, SEO Guru) said, “Brian, you have to get on Pinterest.” So with much reluctance and constant pressure (in a good way) I finally gave in and signed up. Did you know you have to be invited into Pinterest? You can’t just sign up for a new account. I thought that was weird. As a guy that likes “simple,” I was already saying “forget this thing it’s too much work.” But, I stuck with it and have grown to love it. If you’re not on Pinterest, then you’re probably wondering, “What is it?” It’s a bookmark sharing site that uses images as content rather than text. So basically how I use it is that I troll through the web and see an image that stops my heart, is funny, romantic, etc. and I simply “Pin It” and BAM! it’s on one of my designated boards on Pinterest. I can also browse through my followers’ boards or “Repin” things that I like from their images and they can do the same with mine. So other than killing 14 hours by pinning images all day long, how has Pinterest really helped me as a wedding photographer? What I came to realize and what I use it for the most is to see the ideas that future brides have for their wedding – locations, decor, gowns, bouquets, details, shoes, etc.  I think it’s great! Instead of me wondering, “What does today’s’ bride want?” I can get a better idea of what they want based on their boards. After all, you don’t pin things you hate. I’m still kinda new to the whole pinning thing, but with practice I’m confident I’ll get it down. If you’re on Pinterest, look me up. I like getting to know new friends :)

You really explained Pinterest’s ease of use really well! :-) I always thought the whole invite thing was odd too…haha…But I’ve grown to really dig Pinterest.

Ya I thought it was odd to be invited. Only time that’s ever happened. Ya I’m diggin it. It eats up time and before you know it 3 hrs have passed but I’ll do it in moderation. Haha thanks for reading
